Welcome to Ft. Hood! It is our 8th PCS and 3rd time living in Texas. My husband just hit the 20 year mark in his Army career and I've been along for 19 of them. We are the proud parents are 3 amazing military kids and 2 pups. Our Army adventure has taken us north to freezing upstate New York , southwest to sweltering El Paso, festive San Antonio, coastal Georgia, historical central Virginia, beautiful West Point and amazing Colorado . We have lived on post 4 times, bought 3 houses and rented once. We have been landlords as well and know what it's like to deal with long distance home ownership and all it brings with it (2 busted water heaters). My top priorities when researching a new home are schools, distance to post, safety and community convenience. For us, Harker Heights was the perfect fit. The schools are great, commute is no longer than 20 min., our neighborhood is quiet and Target is a 10 min drive!
In my pre-kid life I was an elementary school teacher. Since child #1 arrived, I've been home with my kids. They are active, keep me busy and I feel lucky to always be our family's lighthouse in this crazy life we live. In my spare time you can find me reading a good book, working out at the local Y, walking our dogs or dreaming about our post Army life beach house!

Megan is awesome and brought a huge relief to my husband and I who will be relocating to Ft. Hood, TX!
